What's the difference between Mppt solar charge controller and PWM controller?

0 admin 2021-01-20 16:16:28

1. In appearance

1.) Different size: MPPT solar charge controller case is about 5cm thicker than PWM case;

2.) MPPT solar charge controller with handle, PWM without.

3.) The Mppt solar charge controller contains large capacitors, inductors and IGBT modules, which require a large area of heat dissipation. Therefore, the heat dissipation of the MPPT controller is designed to dissipate heat through the bottom. In the PWM solar charge controller, there are only IGBT modules, without large capacitors and inductors. So the side heat dissipation method is adopted.

   Mppt: without heat dissipation on both sides

PWM:without Bottom heat dissipation

2.Internal structure

The MPPT solar charge controller contains large capacitors and inductors, but PWM solar charge controller does not.

(Note: There must be large capacitors and inductors inside the MPPT solar charge controller. Otherwise, it is a PWM solar charge controller)
